Grades K-8 can now register for youth wrestling! (If you’re looking to register for the middle school or high school wrestling teams, do that using the school’s FamilyID signup.)
You can fill out and submit all necessary forms, and pay registration fees, right here on our website.
The cost is still $50 for the first child, $40 for each additional. (6th through 8th graders are free!)

Reminder: Pizza party tomorrow for wrestling team – return gear!
We will have our pizza party tomorrow (TUES) at dismissal in the Cafeteria. We will also collect your singlets, and any headgears/shoes that you borrowed from the wrestling team.
If you’re wrestling this spring then you can keep the shoes, but please let me know. If you’re competing in tourneys then we’ll get you a singlet/headgear for those events.
If your child does not return their singlet then they will not get their hoodie. PLEASE make sure they remember it!!
Spring Sports Offseason Workouts for Middle and High School Kids
Please let me know what your child is doing this spring? Town softball, Travel Softball, LL Baseball, Travel Baseball, GMS Track, or no Spring Sports. We’re creating offseason workouts for the Middle School & High School kids to give them opportunities to practice even if they play a spring sport or they can double up if they’re going to club too.
Important: Collect All School Singlets at Championship Hoodie Handout
I will collect all singlets and equipment at the championship hoodie handout next week. If you’re wrestling in the offseason and need anything, i will collect your school singlet and give you another in its place. We must collect ALL singlets. No school singlets will be worn in the offseason.
Lions Youth Varsity Tournament List and Weigh-In Details
Lions YOUTH Varsity Tourney List for this Sunday and the weight they need to make. IF YOU’RE ON THIS LIST AND CANNOT MAKE IT ON SUNDAY, THEN PLEASE LET ME KNOW SO WE CAN REMOVE YOU. IF YOU’RE NOT ON THIS LIST THEN YOU WILL BE ENTERED IN THE JV TOURNEY NEXT SUNDAY 2/18 AT CLEARVIEW HS (1 PM Start)
Weigh-Ins are SATURDAY 9am-12pm at RIVERWINDS in West Deptford (I suggest they do this one if they’re cutting/watching their weight, so they can eat & drink up all day Saturday). You can also weigh in SUNDAY – 7am-8am (NO EXCEPTIONS) at MOORESTOWN HS. If you’re late, miss weight, or No Show on Sunday then you will not wrestle, and will have to repay $25 to Lions Wrestling.

GHS Wrestling: Quarterfinal Match Tonight at Paulsboro HS – Support Your Lions!
GHS is wrestling at Paulsboro HS tonight. 5:30 pm start for the Quarterfinal against Pennsville. If they win, they’ll wrestle Paulsboro around 7 pm. Come out and support your HS Lions.
Opportunities for success: Offseason wrestling schedule and future prospects
This is a special group of kids. Truth is, we didn’t wrestle our best today, and still came away with 9 top 4 finishes and majority of our wrestlers left with at least one win. The future is bright. What you do from here will determine our long term success. We have so many advantages at gloucester with clubs and extra opportunities for wrestling. We will have a full schedule of wrestling this offseason. If we all do more in the offseason then we will be able to defend our Colonial Conference Championship next year, and our 8th graders this year will be pushing for Varsity time as freshmen.
Practice Tues and Thurs after school at GMS this week. Club Practice Tues, Weds, & Thurs 6:30-8:30 at GHS. Girls only practice Mon 7-8:30 at ghs and Weds 7-8:30 at GMS.

Bus tomorrow is 2:45 at GMS. Please make sure you are already dressed in your warm-up shirt, shorts, and singlet!! It is our Championship match. Win tomorrow, and we’re undefeated in our Conference for the first time in our programs history at the MS level.

GHS Tri Tonight, Senior Night Ceremony, Colonial Conference Tournament this Weekend.
Today GHS is hosting St. Marks and Penns Grove in a Tri for Senior night. The ceremony will be between matches. GHS will start wrestling at 4:30 pm, so I’d like for our guys to go there instead of practicing today. St. Marks is the of the top teams in Delaware, and a lot of our top wrestlers will have good matchups.
Weds – Go to GHS Match 4:30
Thurs – Practice after school
Fri – Match at Audubon 4 pm (Bus 2:45 pm)
Sat – Colonial Conference Tourney (Bus 7 am; Weights 7 am for Lightweights & 11 am for Upperweights — everyone can weigh in at 7:30 am)
