Practices Begin Wednesday 11/20
The season will be officially underway with practices beginning on Wednesday, November 20th! Practice times will be as follows:
| Tots (Ages 4–6) | Tues & Thurs | 6:00pm – 7:00pm |
| Bantams/Midgets (Ages 7–11) | Tues, Wed, Thurs | 7:00pm – 8:30pm |
| Middle School (Ages 11–14) | TBD weekly | 4:30pm – 6:00pm |
All practices will be held at the Middle School in the auxiliary gym.

All wrestlers must have completed registration forms before they will be permitted to attend practices. Forms can be printed or completed online on our Registration page.
It’s Almost That Time Again!
The weather is getting colder, so all those fun wintertime activities are just around the corner…
Our favorite, of course, is wrestling! We’ll be starting the season two weeks earlier this year — practices will start the week of November 18th. We’ll have more specifics as we get closer, so stay tuned and keep checking back here for updates. For parents who still aren’t sure whether or not their child should wrestle, I recommend reading the following two articles. They do a great job providing some clarification and first-hand insight about what to expect both as a parent and as a wrestler.
Post-Season Practices Tues and Thurs This Week
We will be having post-season practices this week for all youth wrestlers who want to attend.
For ages 10 & up, practices will be Tuesday & Thursday from 5:30-7:00PM.
For ages 9 & under, practices will be Tuesday & Thursday from 7:00-8:30PM.
As usual, these practices will be held in the auxiliary gym at the middle school. Times and dates have also been added to our calendar.
We are working to get approval to continue having these post-season practices through the end of the school year. Once we receive a response from the Board of Education, we will post an update letting everybody know when the post-season practices will resume.
Team Pictures Tomorrow 2/19
We are having professional team and individual pictures taken tomorrow, Tuesday February 19th, at 5:00PM.
Pictures will be taken at the middle school in the auxiliary gym.
Wrestlers should wear their warmup shirts and shorts for the team picture, and singlets for their individual pictures.
BTS Tournament This Sunday 2/17
This coming Sunday, February 17th is the annual Beat The Streets tournament. It is a big tournament for kids of all ages, and every year the kids have had a good time there.
The tourney is hosted at South Philadelphia High School. Since it’s in Philly, we’ll have a bus available for both sessions.
Bus pickup will be Gloucester High parking lot.
K-5th grade (first session):
Start time: 8:00AM
Bus leaves at 7:00AM. Be at GHS by 6:45AM
5th-8th grade (second session):
Start time: 1:00PM
Bus leaves at 12:30PM. Be at GHS by 12:15PM.

Tomorrow’s middle school match against Haddonfield has been cancelled.

Middle School Match Tomorrow 2/15
Our middle school duals team has a match tomorrow, Friday February 15th, at 4:30PM. Our Lions will be wrestling against the Haddonfield Dawgs.
The match will be held in the Gloucester City Middle School auxiliary gym. Doors will open around 4:15PM for parents and spectators.
Middle School Match Tomorrow 2/13
The middle school team has a match tomorrow, February 13th, at 6:00PM. Our Lions will be wrestling against the Kingsway Dragons.
The match will be held at Kingsway Regional High School. We may need some help with carpooling. If you’re able to help out, please let us know!
Middle School Match Tomorrow 2/7
Our middle school duals team has a match tomorrow, Thursday February 7th, at 4:30PM. Our Lions will be wrestling against the Clayton Clipdawgs.
The match will be held in the Gloucester City Middle School auxiliary gym. Doors will open around 4:15PM for parents and spectators.
Youth Night Tomorrow 2/6 at GHS
Tomorrow, Wednesday February 6th, is our annual GCYW Youth Night!
Our youth wrestlers will be brought out on the mat and recognized prior to the start of the high school team’s varsity match.
Youth wrestlers should attend dressed in their Gloucester Wrestling warmup shirts & shorts (singlets are not necessary).

The match will be held in the Gloucester City Middle School auxiliary gym. Doors will open around 3:45PM for parents and spectators.

Middle school practice is cancelled for tomorrow, February 4th.
Be safe and enjoy the day off. Practice resumes as usual on Tuesday.

Middle School Practice Tomorrow 2/2
There will be practice tomorrow, Saturday February 2nd, at 11:15AM. Practice will be held in the wrestling room at the high school.
This practice is for all of the wrestlers competing in this Sunday’s Middle School Varsity Tournament at Riverwinds Community Center.
Gloucester City Youth Wrestling
