Tomorrow marks the official start of our wrestling season! Practices begin for all age groups.
Middle School and High School practices will begin immediately after the regular school day ends.
Youth practices will be Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs depending on age. Monday & Wednesday from 7:00PM – 8:15PM for ages 7+ Tuesday & Thursday from 7:00PM – 8:00PM for ages 4-6
Youth practices will be in the Middle School auxiliary gym. Please use the back entrance by the athletic field to enter the building.
All parents & siblings must wear a mask at all times while inside the school. Parents may be permitted to remain in the cafeteria and wait for practices to conclude, provided they remain seated in the cafeteria and ensure that any other children or siblings do the same.
We’ve got great news for our wrestling family: youth registration (K thru 5th grade) for the 2021-2022 season is now officially open! (If you’re looking to register for the middle school or high school wrestling teams, do that using FamilyID.)
You can fill out and submit all necessary forms, and pay registration fees, right here on our website.
Visit our Registration page and follow the steps to submit the forms and pay the registration fee. The process is easy, and you can do everything from your computer, laptop, tablet, or phone.
Practices will start the Monday after Thanksgiving. We’ll have more specifics as we get closer, including practice schedules for the different age groups, so check back here for updates. Better yet, click/tap the FOLLOW GCYW button on any page to get our news updates delivered to your email inbox.
The youth and middle school winter wrestling season has officially ended.
I want to thank all of the parents, wrestlers, coaches, administrators, and supporters for sticking with us through an odd and volatile season. Despite having to deal with the global pandemic, constantly changing lists of ever-increasing new rules and regulations, match attendance restrictions, and all the other challenges we’ve had to overcome, we still managed to make it work.
At times, it was annoying and inconvenient, I know. Not being allowed to attend some of your child’s wrestling matches, not being allowed to watch from the stands and cheer them on, was almost painful. Having to wait outside in your vehicle in the parking lot of some other school and use your phone to watch a tiny, shaky, sometimes blurry video feed, was infuriating. Not knowing if your kid was getting a match made it even worse.
Yet, you all still came. Despite the hurdles, the confusion, and the annoying prohibitions, you continued to bring your children to practices and matches. For that, you should be commended and I thank you all for your patience, flexibility, and understanding. What a long, strange trip it’s been…
We will be in touch in the near future to arrange for collection of singlets, headgear, and/or other items that need to be returned.
We also plan on having additional, continuing practice sessions for those wrestlers who want to participate. The logistics have not been fully worked out, but I’ll keep you apprised as things progress.
Keep checking the news feed here for updates (or, even better, sign up for the automatic updates if you haven’t already). Again, thank you all for helping us to provide a season for our youth and middle school wrestlers!
Clearview is only permitting one parent per wrestler and no siblings. This means that even if parents have wrestlers in different sessions, only those scheduled to wrestle during the current session are allowed inside.
Masks must be worn by everyone at all times. Wrestlers do not need to wear masks while actually wrestling.
No parents are permitted on the mat. There will be a viewing area for the parents. Matches will also be streamed on Facebook live. Everyone must remain seated while waiting for their match.
If a session runs longer than expected, we will ask the next session participants to wait in their vehicles until the building clears out, but we don’t anticipate running behind.
They will be selling light concessions in one of the rooms. Food and drinks will only be permitted in that room.
The Bantams age group has been split into 2 groups. The names of our wrestlers in those groups are at the bottom.

This coming Monday, March 1st, marks the official start of the 2021 wrestling season.
If you signed up your son or daughter for our youth wrestling program, practices are already scheduled and we encourage you to bring them out.
Practices, matches, and other calendar events are always visible on our Schedule page. We also recommend using the Follow GCYW button to sign up for news feed updates so you’ll never be out of the loop.
We are in the process of finalizing practices and making arrangements so we can get started next week.
Keep an eye on our Schedule page. The calendar there will be updated with practice times.
For health and safety reasons, we must break into multiple groups. Practices on the calendar will be labeled accordingly. We will inform you which group you are in later this week.

Sunday, February 2nd is the league’s annual SJWL Varsity tournament. It will be held at Moorestown High School.
7:00AM ➔ Doors open 7:45AM ➔ Final check-in 8:00AM ➔ Weigh-ins conclude 9:00AM ➔ Wrestling begins
Our varsity wrestlers competing in this weekend’s tournament have already been notified, so there shouldn’t be any confusion as to who’s wrestling and who’s not.
They should also already know the weight class in which they’ll be competing. But, if anybody still isn’t sure, or if there are other questions, contact a coach right away.
