14th Annual Beef & Beer on Saturday 12/3
On Saturday 12/3 from 7:00-10:00pm we’re having our 14th annual Beef & Beer at Holy City Publick House.
Cost is $30/ticket
Includes T-shirt, bottled beer, wine & food.
There will be Chinese auction baskets, big prizes, and a live DJ!

Youth practice schedule
Hello Everyone,
Practices will begin tomorrow with the following schedule for the year:
Age as of December 31, 2022
Ages 4-6 in the middle school auxiliary gym
Tuesday and Thursday 7pm-8pm
Ages 7 and up
Monday 530pm-7pm in the high school wrestling room
Thursday 530pm-7pm in the middle school auxiliary gym.
Have your child wear a tshirt and shorts for practice underneath their sweatpants and coat. We have a bin of shoes that have been donated over the years if you do not have a pair yet.

Beef and Beer Update
Just a reminder:
Our 14th Annual Gloucester Wrestling Beef and Beer will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Holy City Publick House. Start time is 7:00. The cost is $30. 50/50, baskets, and big ticket items will all be part of the fun. Please come out and support.
PreSeason Parents Meeting 9/12
School just started again, which means wrestling season is right around the corner! Winter will be here before you know it.
We expect this year to be outstanding, and are excited to see what our coaches and athletes can do!
To that end, we’re having a meeting for parents of all wrestlers including youth, middle, and high school.
We will meet on Monday, 9/12 at 7:30PM upstairs at Holy City Publick House.
We want to get a jump on fundraising. We will be planning events and fundraisers to prepare for the upcoming season. Please make an effort to attend and assist in this process.
Please also share this information with other wrestling parents and supporters.
MS and HS Matches at Sterling
On Monday, January 24th, our middle school and high school wrestling teams have matches against Sterling.
The middle school match is scheduled to begin at 4:00PM, followed by JV at 5:00PM, and finally Varsity at 6:00PM.
Matches will be held at Sterling High School on Warwick Road. If you can’t attend, you can watch a live stream to be provided courtesy of Sterling’s Channel 19 (YouTube).
We were informed that only four spectators per wrestler will be permitted. If you have questions or concerns about this, please contact a coach to discuss in more detail.
Sunday Matches at Kingsway MS
On Sunday, January 15th, there will be a SJWL youth league event plus K-6 Duals matches.
This will all take place at Kingsway Middle School.
Check-in times are as follows:
There will be concessions available. There will also be a small fee at the door for non-wrestlers.

Thursday’s MS Match Moved to GHS Fieldhouse
Tomorrow, Thursday 1/13, our Middle School duals team has a match against Paulsboro.
Initially, the match was supposed to take place at the middle school, but that has since been changed to the high school’s Fieldhouse (new gym). The start time remains the same (4:00PM).
As always, wrestlers must have their singlets, shoes, hoodies, and shorts. Also, remember to clip fingernails and check skin the day before.
Multiple Locations for Sunday 1/9
On Sunday, January 9th, our Lions wrestlers won’t all be at the same place.
Younger wrestlers from Kindergarten through 6th grade will be at Clearview High School.
Tots check in at 8:00AM
Bantams check in at 9:30AM
Midgets & Juniors check in at 11:30AM
Wrestlers who are part of the K-6 duals team check in at 7:45AM & weigh-in at 8:00AM.
Older wrestlers in 7th & 8th grade will be at Washington Township High School.
Check-in for Wash. Twp. will be 8:15AM.
Please remember that masks are always required at these events, and the host locations will have their own rules regarding food & drink, number of spectators, etc.

This Friday, January 7th, our Lions will be wrestling against the Haddonfield Bulldawgs.
Middle School begins at 4:00PM
JV begins at 5:00PM
Varsity begins at 6:00PM
The match will be held in the GHS Fieldhouse.
Come out to the gym and support all of our Lions wrestlers!
If you can’t make it to the gym, the match should be available on the GHS Live YouTube page.

Scheduling Updates ⚠
You’ve surely heard by now that as of tomorrow our district will be switching to a half-day schedule, which will remain until at least January 14th.
So, at least for the foreseeable future, Middle School practices will be from 2:15PM – 4:15PM.
Evening practices for our Youth and Tots wrestlers should remain unchanged.
Obviously, the situation is volatile so we don’t know what, when, how, or even if more changes will be coming down the line.
Pay close attention to the Remind text messages from coaches because those are easy and typically sent immediately after we receive new information. Also, new relevant information is typically shared through the news feed within 24hrs, so check back here regularly. It’s helpful if you opt to use the Follow GCYW button in the sidebar of most pages.

Varsity will be Saturday 12/18 at 9:30AM
The tournaments will be hosted at Paulsboro High School.

Middle School Schedule Update
Our first middle school match will now be 12/22 vs. Palmyra at GMS at 4:30pm.
Also, the Paulsboro match that was scheduled for next week has been pushed to January 13th.
Lastly, we will be hosting a Middle School Christmas Tournament on Weds 12/29 in the GHS Fieldhouse (the new gym). Check back for more details on that later.
