Great Job This Past Weekend

I want to congratulate all of our wrestlers for their performances this weekend. Some even wrestled both Saturday and Sunday, and I love the dedication!

Congratulations to all of our winners. And for those who may not have won a match this weekend, keep your heads high and move forward.

This was just the first tournament weekend of the season for us, and there will be plenty more to come. Focus on what we can do to perform better next time, and work harder in practice.

Beef & Beer Planning Meeting, Tues 10/22

We’ll be having a planning meeting on Tuesday 10/22 at 7:00PM at Holy City Publick House to discuss this year’s beef & beer event (scheduled for Friday, December 6th). We’re asking for some help from our Gloucester Wrestling family. If you’re able to help out, we encourage you to attend this meeting.

If you didn’t already know, our annual beef & beer event is the largest of the season for us. We’re looking for some volunteers to help out with a few things to make sure the event is a success. If you can, come to the meeting and help us kick off the start of what’s sure to be a great season!

It’s Almost That Time Again!

The weather is getting colder, so all those fun wintertime activities are just around the corner…

Our favorite, of course, is wrestling! We’ll be starting the season two weeks earlier this year — practices will start the week of November 18th. We’ll have more specifics as we get closer, so stay tuned and keep checking back here for updates. Or, even better, click/tap the FOLLOW GCYW button to get our news updates delivered to your email inbox.

For parents who still aren’t sure whether or not their child should wrestle, I recommend reading the following two articles. They do a great job providing some clarification and first-hand insight about what to expect both as a parent and as a wrestler.
